Down, but not out!

Been VERY busy since my last post. All Con, in Texas, and Mega Con 2011, in Orlando, has come and gone. Planning for Mayhem in Orlando is next at the end of May and I have a costume I will bring out of storage for that.

Right now I am looking at one new costume for Dragon Con this year. I blame all the wonderful ladies and their love for the movie 'Sucker Punch' for this one. Also, I blame the fact that no one is doing this or at least no one I have seen. I have 4 months to get it going and I already have two 55 gallon barrels to make this happen. This Demon Samurai will have a Miss Monster twist to it. Just better that way.

Optional thought is to have a back banner with Babydoll's face on it all ghost buster logo style. That would be made of win for sure. :D

Assassin's Creed Apprentice Research

Got one of my buddies looking into Assassin's Creed and it seems that a few of us are interested in doing this. Really looking into the one of the Assassin's Apprentices. Researching now what it takes to get this one done. Looking into how to sew this without a pattern. Should be interesting.

Still in research mode here. Need to talk to a few people before I even begin the next phase. Here is a link to a woman who made a bag that has EL Wire sewn into it. Looks awesome and lots to learn from this.

Tron Legacy Costume - Random Program Concept

Here is the Tron Legacy tribute costume I want to make. This is a concept sketch of a character that made it in the movie. I believe he got derezzed in the 'End of Line' bar, but that doesn't mean I can't rock this. Many things I need to figure out.

1. The jacket. Commission or pattern? What material to use?

2. Pants. Black poly/cotton or same material as the jacket.

3. EL tape. On the pants it has a 30 degree turn there and I'm not sure how to pull that off seamlessly.

4. EL Tape or EL wire in the boots.


Should be an interesting one to figure out how to do. I will share this page with many friends and people I know in the costuming world and see what they say. I don't want to post or make a thread as of now on any boards as it will just get in the way of others progress. So I will keep it here until later.
